Tessering | 2017

In 2016 scientists discovered ripples in the space/time continuum which fulfilled Einstein’s prediction that gravitational waves warp space and time. These folds in the universe help explain the principle that the shortest distance between two points is a wrinkle or fold.

'Tessering' was a concept I first encountered when reading Madeleine L'Engle's classic science fantasy book A Wrinkle in Time (1963).

Tesseracts are five dimensional shapes. Tessering is a term described in L'Engle's book as a way to  travel through time. A wrinkle in the fold of time is like a computer hyperlink, you jump or 'tesser' through layers of time.
